Just a subjective observation. Is it a current trend for Hollywood to go back to the 'beginnings'? Here are some examples.
- Star Wars
- Batman
- X-Men
- Star Trek
- Harry Porter (the origin of Lord Voldemort and his ties with Harry)
- History Channel and National Geographic (origins of the universe, earth and life)
And outside of the theaters or TV series, we have the continuous interest in the remaking or redefining of the beginning of Christianity (still waiting for Dunn's 'Beginning from Jerusalem'). My own journey is also prompted by a rethinking of how the first church was like in the first century.
So, for those who say that they are not interested in history, we may be engaging and indulging in it more than we realize.
