3 Laws

Recently, I have been contemplating on the fact that there are three laws which are simultaneously working in our lives, namely:
  1. the law of sin
  2. the law of righteousness
  3. the law of liberty
The first law leads us to sin and death, the second show us what is right, judges and condemns us for our failure to do what is right to its fullest extend, and the final one announces justification through faith in Christ and allows grace to continue the race.

My contention is that these 3 laws continue to work and influence us from the day the Lord Jesus Christ saved us to the day we are resurrected in the glorious body that He is going to reward us. Therefore, in my opinion, the law of sin and righteousness did not stop in their power to affect our thinking, actions and behaviour on the day we confessed Christ Jesus as Lord. The law of sin is still tempting us, and the law of righteousness is still telling us what is right, and shouting to us the conclusion that we are failing to do what is right. Thus a continuous stuggle as mentioned by Paul. Like Paul, we cry, "who shall free us from this weak body, this body of death?". To God be all praise that we can choose to submit to the 3rd law, the law of liberty and grace, and continue on, grace upon grace. Amen.
